Election Day
We are very lucky to have five candidates running for two positions on the Board of Education.  While I am sure you cannot miss the signs all over the Village announcing their candidacies, today is the day to vote: polls are open until 9pm at the Main Street School.  If you are still unsure who to vote for, both the Daily Tarrytown ( and the Rivertowns Patch ( have had extensive coverage of the candidates.

In addition to the Board of Education Trustee position, you will also be voting on 2012/2013 school budget.

At tomorrow’s work session, the Board of Trustees will be discussing our priorities for the current year.  If you have thoughts on what we should be focusing on in the Village, please send me an e-mail.

Irvington Girls Basketball Celebration

As I mentioned in my last e-mail, on May 20th from 4pm-7pm, we will be celebrating the Irvington Girls Basketball Team’s State and Federation Championships on Main Street, outside the Fire House.  The Irvington Fire Company and the Irvington Recreation Department are planning a wonderful “block party” and I will be presenting the team with “Keys to the Village.”  Please join us at this free event as we revel in the tremendous success, as well as the tremendous citizens, that represent Irvington as the Lady Bulldogs.

As always, please contact me with any question or comments about things going on in the Village.

Brian C. Smith, Mayor
