The excitement is building for our annual fireworks display in Matthiessen Park tomorrow, July 4th, when the sky it is dark enough for fireworks, typically a little after 9pm. Please do not call the Irvington Police Department to ask when the fireworks will start. Thanks, once again, to all of those hearty souls who took the plunge into the chilly Hudson River back in April. Part of the money that was raised from the Penguin Plunge will be used to put on our fireworks display.
Parking will be extremely limited, so please plan to walk if at all possible.  If you must drive, please carpool. Very little parking will be available on the west side of the railroad tracks, so plan to park in the Metro-North parking lot at the Irvington Station or up the hill at the Main Street School.  It’s just a short stroll through our Main Street business district.  Feel free to make a stop or two at one of our fine merchants or restaurants along the way.
By now, you probably received a security message pertaining to tomorrow night’s fireworks display.  If you did not, a copy is available here:  I share your disappointment that we have to implement these additional security measures, however, I am confident that the evening will still be safe and fun for all!
