The Irvington Local Landmark process was established in 2018 by the Board of Trustees to allow historic or unique properties to be designated as a local landmark. The property can be nominated either by the owner or a non-owner, although designation cannot occur without the consent of the owner.
The local landmark process provides a low-cost way for owners to gain additional recognition while enjoying added uses under the Village's zoning code. Those uses include the ability to run guided tours or a museum.
Chapter 144 of the Village Code contains all of the details about the nomination process. To nominate a property for designation, complete a Local Landmark Nomination form and submit it to the Village Clerk/Treasurer by mail at: 85 Main St., Irvington, NY 10533 or e-mail: office@irvingtonny.gov
