Since the adoption of the
Main Street Streetscape Master Plan, the Board of Trustees has been working hard to implement some of the recommended elements of the plan. They applied for and were successful in obtaining a State grant to help fund the first of these projects: The Aqueduct Crossing. The project is intended to improve visibility and safety where the Aqueduct crosses Main Street and includes a much needed upgrade of the war monuments.
For the past 8 months, a stakeholder group made up of representatives of the Irvington School District, Irvington DPW, Friends of the OCA, the Village Historian and others has been working to develop plans. The
most recent set of plans are linked below. These plans are considered preliminary in that they are currently under review by the NYS Parks Department, owner of the Old Croton Aqueduct.
