[ARCHIVED] Winter Storm Alert

Due to snow storm, we have some important information for residents:

Village Hall and Recreation offices closed Tuesday 3/14.
Irvington Public Library closed Tuesday 3/14.
Garbage pickup cancelled for Tuesday 3/14.
** A decision about recycling pickup for Wednesday 3/15 will be made during the day on Tuesday.

Please report all power outages or downed wires directly to Con Edison at or 1-800-75-CONED.  Do not call the Irvington Police Department with power outage reports.  However, if there are live wires down, this is an emergency and you should call the police department. In case of extended power outages, the Village will prepare plans for warming shelters.

Residents that live adjacent to a sidewalk must remove snow from the sidewalk.  For Main Street residents, the snow must be removed by 9am and 4pm each day.  For other areas, the snow must be removed within 12 hours after the end of the storm.
Although it is not required by law, it would be quite helpful if residents dug out a nearby fire hydrant to help reduce any delay in the Fire Department’s response time.
Please do not plow or shovel snow into the roadway.
There is no travel ban at this time.  The heaviest of the snow is expected between 4am and noon on Tuesday 3/14.  If you decide to venture out, please do so with extreme caution and care.
