Update on Pre-Payment of Village Taxes

I’m writing to update you on the possibility of pre-paying your 2018 village taxes. As you can imagine, I’ve received many questions on this topic.

Unfortunately, the Governor’s Executive Order, issued on Friday, did not address the pre-payment of Village taxes directly (or School taxes). As a result, at this point, the Village cannot accept pre-payment of 2018 Village taxes. However, the Board of Trustees, Village staff and I are researching possible solutions to allow pre-payments to be accepted. We have also been working with other local municipalities on this issue. I can assure you that we will all work on this issue until we have a definitive answer, with the hope of being able to accept pre-payments later this week.

We are very aware that time is short and we are working on finding solutions as quickly as possible. Given the timing, please monitor the Village web site (www.irvingtonny.gov), Village e-mails, or social media for any announcements.
