The Irvington Recreation and Parks Department is pleased to announce that access between upper Memorial Park and the lower portion of Memorial Park adjacent to Station Road has been restored. Access to these areas has been closed since flooding from Hurricane Ida caused significant damage in September.
While the area adjacent to the playground is accessible, the playground itself remains closed. A severely damaged section of pipe beneath the playground has caused the ground in that area to become unsafe.
Visitors to the park will have access to the pathway and bridge that leads between the upper and lower portions of Memorial Park. Please avoid any areas marked off as unsafe by caution tape or fencing. The bathrooms in Memorial Park remain closed for the winter.
