The Irvington Public Library will host the next Rivertowns Repair Cafe on Saturday, April 30, from 11 am - 3 pm.
Rivertowns Repair Cafe is a pop-up repair shop! A place where you bring your broken goods and work with volunteers to fix them for free.
TO VOLUNTEER, DONATE OR ANY QUESTIONS: IrvingtonRepairCafe@gmail.com
Volunteers still needed!--Repair experts, fixers, restorers, menders, as well as general greeters, setup and cleanup. There are two repair shifts: 11-1 and 1-3; we particularly need afternoon volunteers. It's a fun community event!
Co-sponsored by Hastings Repair Cafe, Irvington Green Policy Task Force and Hastings Conservation Commission.
What is a Repair Café?
A place where you bring your broken goods and work with volunteers to fix them for free.
There will be tools and materials to make repairs on clothes, furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles, crockery, appliances, toys, etc, depending on that day, location, and volunteers. If we cannot repair the item we will try to refer you to local professionals.
The Repair Café was initiated by Martine Postma in the Netherlands. Since 2011, the Repair Café Foundation, a non-profit organization, has provided professional support to local groups around the world wishing to start their own Repair Café.
