[ARCHIVED] Library will have modified hours today

The Irvington Library will have modified hours today (Tuesday, August 9), due to the extreme heat.

We will be open from 10am - noon; and from 6pm - 9pm.

We are in the process of replacing components of our air conditioning system.  We have rented portable units and have many fans stationed throughout the library, but the excessive heat today is more than these temporary measures can handle.

Our new chiller was delivered today!  It will still take a week to have it fully installed, but the unit's delivery in this period of supply-chain problems is a huge step in the right direction.

The current heat wave is supposed to break tonight, so we hope to be able to resume our regular schedule soon.  Please check the library's website and/or our social media (or call the library's main number 914-591-7840) to make sure we're open before planning your visit.

We thank you for your patience.
