This coming Wednesday, September 21, the Board of Trustees will be holding a special meeting to hear about plans to expand the Firehouse on Main Street. This very important project has been in the works since at least 2009. Much has changed since then, but the serious deficiencies of our firehouse facility persist, along with other Village facility needs. The project has picked up momentum since the Village's acquisition of property on Main Street immediately adjacent to the current firehouse.
The Village’s consultant has worked for the past 9 months with our volunteer firefighters and staff. They spent this time discussing the current deficiencies and future needs for a safe and functional facility. They have also spent time discussing the needs of the Town Hall Theater, Justice Court, Police Department, and other Village offices. The Board is looking forward to hearing from their consultants, staff and volunteer firefighters and seeing their progress. A copy of the preliminary floor plans is posted on the Village web site. The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. and will be held in the Trustees’ Meeting Room in Village Hall. Livestream will be available on Zoom and YouTube for those who would prefer to watch remotely. The link to the Zoom meeting is https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84106281073
