[ARCHIVED] Con Edison Gas Main Construction Update

Updates for Harriman Road and East Sunnyside Lane

Harriman Road and Sidestreets

Con Edison will begin paving operations on the sidestreets off of Harriman Road during the week of September 26, 2022. The work is expected to last 2 weeks and will begin at Victor Drive and continue up Harriman Road to Lewis Road. Upon the completion of the sidestreet paving, Harriman Road itself will be paved.

East Sunnyside Lane

Gas main replacement is scheduled to begin on East Sunnyside Lane starting October 3, 2022. The project is expected to last approximately 6 months. The gas main beneath the entire length of East Sunnyside Lane will be replaced.

During the project, a portion of East Sunnyside Lane will be completely closed. As a result, during the hours of construction (typically 7am to 5pm), there will be no through traffic on East Sunnyside Lane.  Depending on the exact location of construction, access to and from residences along East Sunnyside Lane will need to be from Broadway in Irvington or Route 119 / Taxter Road in Elmsford.

Con Edison will provide updates on a weekly basis to indicate exactly where construction will take place for the upcoming week. This information will be posted on the village web site. Those needing to access locations along East Sunnyside Lane should adjust their routes accordingly.

During the project, the routes for school bus pickup will be adjusted. The Irvington School District will communicate any route changes. Also, sanitation pickup will still occur on the regularly scheduled days. However, the pickup times in these neighborhoods will likely be later than normal.
