Con Edison is continuing gas main construction on East Sunnyside Lane and the work is expected to last through spring 2023. Regular construction hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Monday-Friday) and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. During the hours of construction, East Sunnyside Lane will be closed to through traffic.
However, the exact location of the road closure will depend on where Con Edison is currently working. The plan is for Con Edison to begin on East Sunnyside Lane near Broadway and work their way eastward up East Sunnyside Lane.
After Saturday, November 5, the construction will progress east of Hudson View Park. Therefore, access to the Hudson View Park neighborhood will be from Broadway / Route 9 only. There will be no access from Taxter Road / Route 119.
For the week of November 7 - November 11, work is expected to progress from the entrance to Hudson View Park / Hudson Ave to Pintail / Whitetail Roads. If you live east of the closure, you will need to come and go over Taxter Road / Route 119. If you live west of the closure, you will need to come and go over Broadway / Route 9. As construction progresses, that may change, depending on where you live.
Irvington and Tarrytown Police will be on site to assist residents and motorists.
