It is with deep regret that we must report the passing of Retired Irvington Police Chief Basil Nikitopoulos. Chief Nikitopoulos began his career with the Irvington Police Department on August 7, 1959 and served as Police Chief from 1989 until his retirement in 1992. Chief Nikitopoulos passed away on Friday, July 30, 2010 after a brief illness. No arrangements have been set at this time, but will be announced upon receiving.
