The Board has continued a public hearing Wednesday, January 19, 2011 to consider revised Waterfront Zoning.
On December 13, 2010, the Board of Trustees released a revised draft version of the zoning for its current Industrial zone. The law was updated on January 6, 2011. The new Waterfront (WF) Zone will replace the current Industrial Zone in its entirety. The legislation is the result of over a year of focused effort by the Board of Trustees and members of the Village staff.
In September 2009, the Board set out its initial priorities for a new zone to replace the current Industrial Zone. Those priorities were publicly discussed and, ultimately, finalized in December 2009. Since then, Village counsel and a planning consultant have worked to draft new legislation based around the Board’s priorities. That legislation was released on September 28, 2010 and the Board held three public hearing sessions in October and November 2010. Based on these hearings, a new draft was prepared as of December 13, 2010 and updated on January 6, 2011.
The Board has scheduled a public hearing to be continued on Wednesday, January 19, 2011. The hearing begin at 7:00 pm and will be held in the Trustees’ Meeting Room (Court Room) of Village Hall, 85 Main St., Irvington, NY. In addition, the meeting will be broadcast live on Irvington’s Cable Channel (Cablevision channel 75 and Verizon channel 40) and webcast at www.irvingtonny.gov .
