The Town of Greenburgh, through the Greenburgh Police Department, is leading the creation of a Comprehensive All-Hazards Mitigation Plan for the Town and six Villages (Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Elmsford, Hastings-on-Hudson, Irvington and Tarrytown).
The creation of this plan will help the area to better prepare for and withstand hazardous events and disasters, and allow the Town and participating Villages to be eligible for future mitigation funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Project funding would be available for both public and private property.
The Draft All-Hazards Mitigation Plan has been submitted to the NYS Office of Emergency Management for their review. The public is encouraged to review and comment on this draft prior to the Plan being finalized and submitted to FEMA for their approval. The Executive Summary and the Irvington-specific chapter of the Plan are available in hard copy for review in the Village Clerk's Office at Village Hall, 85 Main Street.
