[ARCHIVED] Farmers Market Today!

Don't let the cold weather keep you from today's Indoor Farmers Market at the Senior Citizens Center in Scenic Hudson Park - 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Don't let the cold weather keep you from today's Indoor Farmers Market at the Senior Citizens Center in Scenic Hudson Park - 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Here's a message from the Farmers Market manager:

Taiim Falafel Shack will be bringing their popular red lentil soup to the Irvington Farmers Market this week (Westchester Magazine raves about it.) They will also have falafel balls ready to take home and fry at your leisure!

This cold snap has inspired Fork & Glass: they've come up with a divine laurel-scented cauliflower soup as well as a heartier cannelini bean soup with country ham and rosemary. Their Celery Root and Heirloom Apple Soup is back by popular demand.

They will also be bringing their Chicken and Cheese Enchiladas with Roasted Tomatillo Salsa -- all you have to do is heat and serve, preferably with some of their Cowboy Beans and Mexican Rice available, for the first time, by the pint.

Of course, they will also be cooking up their Norwegian pancakes/crepes three varieties of Quesadillas: Cheese, Black and Bean and Sweet Potato as well as Roasted Chicken tossed in Lime Juice and Cilantro.

All that at the market, plus pickles, prepared organic salads from True Food of Nyack, Cayuga beans and farro courtesy of Honey Locust Farmhouse, orchard apples and cider, premium grass-fed, organic meats and charcuterie from Gaia's Breath, greenhouse greens from Madura Farms (and those crazy delicious mushrooms - now that it's risotto season I can't wait to get my hands on them).

Plus, a new vendor, FLOUR CITY PASTA (yes, you've seen them at the Brooklyn Flea!) will be selling their small-batch artisanal pastas like wild mushroom/chipotle fettuccine and cranberry pistachio orzo...

Looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday, January 4th, at the Senior Center, 29 Bridge St. from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m., for our first market of 2012!
Please remind all your friends that there is a market this week...
The next market in Hastings is Saturday January 14th, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the James Harmon Community Center.
